AIS has experience developing skins and modules for DotNetNuke.  DotNetNuke is a new and innovational open source (free) web portal and content managment system (CMS) written in ASP.Net.  This system makes it very easy to setup and maintain a website without any programming skills required (some programming may be required for unique features or unique site layout).  In some instances, limited knowlege of HTML is required if you wish to get fancy with the content. You control the content and the look and feel of your website through a very simple user interface, directly on your website!!!

DotNetNuke was used to develop this website.  You don't have to know HTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), or any of those other technical skills.  You simply setup your menus and add modules (containers of functionality) onto different areas of your page through a simple point and click interface.  These modules form the basis of your content.  The area you are reading now was created with the Text/HTML module, and has a word processor style editor to hide the complexities of the HTML.

You have the ability to add registration capabilities and hidden content that only assigned user roles can access.  Some of the modules include: Announcements, Contacts, Discussions, Events (with built-in calendar), FAQs, Feedback, Mailing Lists, News Feeds (RSS), Search, Survey, and much more...

Many web hosting providers will install the DotNetNuke portal software free of charge.  Our favorit hosting provider is WebHost4Life.  They have low prices and very good customer support, including phone support if needed.  We have been using them over three years now, and have not had any major problems and their up-time is terrific.  If you decide to host with a different hosting provider that does not install this software for you, AIS can assist you in getting the software installed and setup.  However, the hosting provider must support Asp.Net 2.0 and Sql Server.

AIS can provide programming services to convert website templates into DotNetNuke skins, as well as develop custom modules to enhance the built-in functionality of the DotNetNuke system.

DotNetNuke Skins:  Skins include the layout, menus, and graphics of a website.  DotNetNuke comes with a few basic skins that can be used to change the “look and feel“ of the website.  However, if you want something more unique, AIS can develop a skin from most any website template that can be purchased.  Most website templates are developed in Adobe Photoshop, and can be purchased for a reasonable cost from other websites.  The best website we've found to purchase website templates is TemplateMonster.  Most website templates can be converted to DotNetNuke skins for around $500.

DotNetNuke Modules:  Modules provide functionality to the website portal.  Some of the built-in modules were mentioned above, such as Announcements, Contacts, Discussions, Events, etc.  Modules are harder to develop than skins and the price will vary based on the functionality required in the module.  AIS charges $70 per hour for module development.  We can also modify any of the standard modules that come with DotNetNuke if you want to change some of the functionality.  Small projects (under 100 hours) can be estimated up front and a maximum amount established.  Larger projects would be developed in phases, with each phase being estimated and developed in order of priority.  Each phase would result in a completed module, but with varying levels of required functionality.
